It is quite ironic , considering Bali is a nest sculptor . Amid the lack of contemporary sculptors , appeared figure I Ketut Putrayasa , men born in Tibubeneng , Badung , May 15, 1981. Putrayasa been interested to pursue the art of sculpture since 1994. To deepen his craft , he studied sculpture at ISI . Putrayasa actively participates in a number of exhibitions together , both at home and abroad . For example , in 2004 , he presented his work at the Museum Pendet , Ubud . And , since 2008 , his works more exhibited in Europe , including Belgium and the Netherlands . ' ' Most sculptors in Bali less daring work of contemporary works . Besides fear not sell , nor ready to be criticized . So they tend to work on sculptures of wood in hopes to sell quickly , '' said Putrayasa , commenting on the lack of contemporary sculptors in Bali .During this time , Putrayasa more interested in working on sculptures of metal ( iron , steel , brass ) , fiber , glass , plastics , cement , and recycled materials . In consideration that , I worked on a statue of former materials and junk iron . Wherever possible I avoid wearing wood , ' ' he said . At the exhibition ' ' Kuta Art Chromatic ' ' featuring the work of 132 artists held since December 30, 2013 until January 26, 2014 in Alas Arum , Seminyak , Kuta , Putrayasa featuring a contemporary sculptural works of woven steel . Sculpture entitled ' ' Goddess Draupadi ' ' that measures 245 x 190 x 130 cm , worked for three months with the team . Steel webbing forming Draupadi figure deliberately not given a touch of paint , as a symbol of innocence or honesty . According Putrayasa , Draupadi is a symbol of Mother Earth ( earth ) are helpless exploited by power and greed . Inspiration statue was unearthed from the story of Draupadi at stake at the gambling table by the Pandavas and Kauravas as cunning Sekuni . Gambling game that led to the Pandavas lost treasure , palace , humiliated , and driven out of the land of his birth .
